Interestingly, bioluminescence is not only confined to warm tropical areas. Many cold, deep-sea creatures exhibit bioluminescence, which they use for everything from attracting prey to deterring predators. The anglerfish, with its eerie glow and dangling lure, is perhaps the most iconic of these deep-sea dwellers.
